If the Lords prayer is directed at God the father, why is "Forgive us" mentioned in there if... HELP?

That is the only prayer Jesus left for His believers and as believers we know what Jesus said, to pray to the Father in His name for no one can come to the Father unless they come through Him for He is our advocate for it is He who reconciled us back into the family of God. If you don't believe in Him then you are just a part of God's creation that will be destroyed but if you believe in Jesus your spirit is quickened to life and this is where we are related to God as His children and can't be separated from the source of life, Him. As part of the Godhead Jesus is equal in power to the other 2 but shows a selflessness by taking a back seat to the Father because He did not want the emphasis put on Him.
